The Barrington Farmers Market was started in 2000 by the Barrington Village Association, a homeowner’s group made up of residents living in the downtown Village area. In 2018, the market underwent a successful revitalization in hopes of building a new food system, fostering entrepreneurship, and encouraging community.
NeuroBalance Center is excited to announce its newest fitness program, FitGolf! Hosted weekly at NeuroBalance Center located at 1529 South Grove Ave. Barrington, this program is offered by Dr. Sam Warady, Occupational Therapist, Health & Wellness Trainer & Adaptive Golf Instructor. Sam is a certified Adaptive Golf Instructor through the U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA), an organization that offers adaptive golf clinics and tournaments for individuals living with disabilities throughout the country. How much water do you take in each day? In this session, Maureen will talk about the importance of water for the well-being of your body, how to add more fluids to your diet, and what happens to your body when you do not get enough water. Presented by Maureen Statland, Social Services Specialist. All are welcome! There is no cost to join, but registration is required. Our goal is to inspire families to go for a hike, a bicycle ride, play catch, fish, play frisbee and of course, Fly A Kite! KidFest is a FREE. Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club and the Barrington Park District come together to host this fabulous community event, along with over 20 other organizations. Check in at registration to get your all access wristband to participate in the activities. Then, pick up a free kite (for ages 2-10), climb a tree, build a birdhouse, race your parents, do an obstacle course, or explore the creatures that live in the pond. Food and drinks available for purchase from Rotary Grill! This event is popular, and parking is limited.
This a unique scenic race through the rolling hills of Barrington, you’ll be running or walking by beautiful country estates, horse farms, and a lot of woods and nature. Charities to benefit: Ukraine- Presbyterian Disaster Relief for Ukraine, F.I.S.H. Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity. Christopher House, Good News Jail Ministry, and Samaritan Counseling Center. Starting Line is at the Presbyterian Church parking lot. We need additional volunteers, sponsors and runners and walkers. The Memorial Day Parade is back! Bob the DJ will join a group of veterans at the parade which will begin on Park Avenue, go to Dundee Avenue, and end in Evergreen Cemetery with a ceremony. Learn more at Barrington-IL.gov.
Cynthia Rowley is bringing the beach to Barrington! The Barrington-native and fashion designer will visit Barrington’s White House once again with events including a Pop-Up Shop with the most recent Cynthia Rowley collection on June 1 and 2; a “Sip, See, & Shop” with Cynthia herself on the 2nd, and a beach-themed tented cocktail party in the BWH Parking Lot. The only fundraiser the BACF hosts each year, we work hard to create a day of fun on the links leading to an exceptional cocktail hour and dinner featuring prizes, raffles, and auctions. Don’t golf? Barrington-based Signal Hill Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will hold an “Afternoon Tea” on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at The Garlands of Barrington. The program, titled, “Remembering Marshall Field’s,” will be presented by author and historian, Leslie Goddard, who brings history to life in a fun, inspiring and educational way.
