Crowning Achievements

First, some exciting news. Our newly crowned Miss Illinois Teen USA is a Class of 2023 Barrington High School graduate! Vivica Lewandowski talks about her journey in our exclusive feature interview. In October, she will compete at the Miss Teen USA pageant in Las Vegas. We wish her such good luck!

Our cover story showcases the Barrington Hills Polo Club and how its school is home to some of the best training around for the Sport of Kings. John Rosene takes the lead in our feature story and talks about this local sport that continues to attract multi-generational family members to the polo arena and field. The club is also known for its LeCompte/Kalaway Cup, which is the largest single polo event in Chicagoland. Stewart, joins us at Barrington’s White House for a discussion on his highly awarded book series and forthcoming movie franchise on July 9. Hosted by the Barrington Cultural Commission, there’s a special surprise in store for this event.

We are delighted to introduce Dr. Vicki Phelps, who is the new Head of School for Quest Academy, and a nationally recognized leader in gifted education. She is the co-founder of the Collaborative Process Model and author of five books on the art of teaching gifted children. In our Interview, Dr. Phelps talks about the importance of having shared values at school, which is embodied in their student Knighthood program.

Suzanne Luby, a charming force of nature, is our Quintessential Person honoree. Suzanne is an example to us all with her sense of humor, candor, dedication, and steadfast style. Congrats Suzanne!
